A morning visit to Liverpool Road retarding Basin in Boronia. This is a site for Swamp Skink. The melaleuca scrub just to the south of the car park is the site. There is a small track that goes in near the lake but they could also be amongst the tussocks of Lomandra (the strap-like grass) along the edges of the grassy area.

We didn't see any but were probably a bit too late in the morning. It was already about 25 degrees C when we arrived and the smaller skinks were very skittish.
